Tolls on the Garden State Parkway and New Jersey Turnpike increased only about 16 months ago. The New Jersey Turnpike Authority says the tolls have to go up by another 3 percent on January 1st "to provide a stable source for funding capital needs." Tolls were last increased in September of 2020. Back then tolls went up a whopping 36 percent on the Turnpike and 27 percent on the Parkway. Last year the turnpike authority approved a process that would allow for annual toll increases of up to 3 percent each year. I guess what comes in is never enough.
