"Be my Baby" was one of the Ronettes biggest hits. Ronnie Spector also had a big hit song with rocker Eddie Money "Take Me Home Tonight." Anyone who listens to 1023 WSUS has also heard many Ronettes Christmas songs and her Christmas duet with Darlene Love. What many people might not realize is that she was a very familiar face in New Jersey's music scene as well. She often performed at the Stone Pony in Asbury Park in the 1970's and 80's. Sometimes joining Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes on stage. Steve Van Zandt said her album with The E Street Band "Helped sustain us" and "It was an honor to produce her." Ronnie Spector passed away after a short battle with cancer. She was 78.
