Before his own financial problems came to light. Joseph Schwartz almost purchased the Andover Sub Acute Nursing Home in Sussex County. According to a story posted by NJ.COM his oldest son is still listed as an officer connected to the facility. Which is now called Woodhaven Behavioral and Nursing Center. Before his nursing home empire collapsed Joseph Schwartz owned Skyline Healthcare. Which operated as many as 95 facilities in 11 states including New Jersey. The federal charges allege Schwartz failed to pay over $29 Million in payroll and unemployment taxes. He was arrested this week at his home in Suffern, New York. He ran his nursing home empire from a small office over a pizzeria in Wood Ridge in Bergen County.
