This is a crazy story. Hudson County machine politics at it's most dangerous. The U.S. Attorney's Office in Newark announced a guilty plea yesterday in a case that took almost 8 years to investigate. In May of 2014, Sean Caddle was a Democratic Party political operative in Jersey City connected to State Senator Ray Lesniak and then Congressman Robert Menendez. The U.S. Attorney's Office says Caddle hired an un-named Connecticut man to murder a Jersey City man believed to be the son of former State Senator James Galdieri. Michael Galdieri was stabbed to death. Then his Jersey City apartment was set on fire to cover up the crime. Caddle, who now lives in Hamburg paid the Connecticut man and an accomplice a day later. He is now cooperating with federal prosecutors after pleading guilty to a murder for hire charge. As of now, Caddle is facing a sentence that could put him in prison for the rest of his life.
