This week the New Jersey State Senate unanimously approved legislation that called on Governor Murphy to re-open state unemployment offices to the public. At a hearing with Labor Commissioner Robert Asaro-Angelo yesterday. Democrat and Republican state senators told the commissioner he was not doing enough to help ease the backlog of claims. Asaro-Angelo defended his actions but did say some help is on the way. One stop career centers will be opening by appointment only starting March 28th. In response the state senators told the labor commissioner they want to see a "Plan B" if those offices are "over run" with applicants needing help. Asaro-Angelo said there is a "Plan B" but would not share it with the senators. He insisted "Plan A" will work.
