Lisa McBride was only 27 years old when she disappeared from her home in Highland Lakes in June of 1990. The search for her involved hundreds of people and several law enforcement agencies including the F.B.I. Four months after going missing, McBride's skeletal remains were found by hunters in Sandyston. The Sussex County Prosecutors Office followed thousands of leads after McBride's death was ruled to be a homicide. No arrests were ever made. The McBride case is one of six cold cases the local prosecutor's office has never forgotten about. Yesterday, the prosecutor's office released new information on the case. They said McBride's body was recently exhumed to collect additional DNA evidence. Does this mean they're any closer to solving the case? All First Assistant Prosecutor Gregory Mueller would say is: "We believed there was an additional investigative step that needed to be taken and that additional step required us to exhume the body."
