Assemblyman Parker Space announced he will not be seeking re-election yesterday. In a press release from the 24th district legislative office Space said the past year has brought "profound changes" to his life. Which means he will have to dedicate his full attention to running his family's business Space Farms Zoo and Museum. The assemblyman said his father Fred Space passed away last year and his sister Lori has retired from the family business. Which has placed more responsibility on him. He does intend to fully serve out his current legislative term which ends in January of 2024. Space is currently the only farmer in the state legislature. In a separate press release, the Sussex County Republican Team announced that Space's wife Jill will be running for County Commissioner in this June's primary.
