Sunday was Palm Sunday. I help with the youth group and Sunday School at the United Methodist Church of Matamoras. My grand daughter Gracie goes with me for youth group and Sunday School. Both kids and grown-ups have the most fun doing holiday plays. Yesterday we performed a cute play for kids that tells the story of what Good Friday is all about. I played "Dusty" the donkey. The grandson of the donkey that carried Mary into Bethlehem before she gave birth to Jesus. The Sunday School teachers did a tremendous job with the costumes and sets. I wore a funny shirt that said "pretending to be a donkey." The kids did a fantastic job. Miss Gracie was a cat in the play. Afterwards Pastor Diane thanked all of us with a beautiful daffodil. Speaking of flowers. The other big project this weekend was getting the starter pots going for my garden this year. The cucumbers, peppers, marigolds, daisies and butterfly mix seeds are in a sunny spot in my basement. Ready to grow.
