The 60,000 people who came to see Paul McCartney last night at Met Life Stadium in East Rutherford got a double surprise. When Bruce Springsteen came out on stage near the end of the night to sing "Glory Days" with Paul to celebrate his 80th birthday the crowd went nuts. Paul knew Bruce would be there because he told the crowd: "We have a surprise for you, a local boy." Bruce then joined Paul on stage saying "Here's to another 80 years of Glory Days." After singing "Glory Days" together Paul asked Bruce to stay on stage for one more song. Which turned out to be a driving version of the Beatles song "I wanna be your man." Paul celebrates his 80th birthday tomorrow. Seeing the Boss pay tribute and sing with Paul was surely a once in a lifetime moment for everyone at Met Life Stadium. But wait! Another one in a lifetime moment was yet to come. During the encore Paul asked the crowd if anyone else had a birthday coming up. Then Jon Boni Jovi came out from back stage with a bundle of balloons in hand and interrupted Paul saying: "I know it's somebody's birthday." Who knows if Paul was actually surprised. He did say "who's that." right before Jon invited the crowd of 60,000 to join him singing "Happy Birthday" to Paul. After the crowd sang Jon tried to release the balloons into the night sky. Which didn't go as planned. They got caught in the rafters of the stage. Well, it's the thought that counts right?
