I've lived in Pennsylvania for over 20 years and never driven across the Dingman's Ferry Bridge. I'm about 15 miles north in Matamoras. One day I'm going to just for the experience. The historic bridge is one of the last privately owned bridges in the United States. The bridge deck is made from wooden planks. Toll collectors are on site 24 hours a day because EZ Pass is not accepted. The one way toll across the bridge has been $1 for the past 14 years. Tomorrow that toll will double to $2 each way. The company that owns the bridge says they held off for as long as possible. The price of ticket books for commuters is going up too. Now 40 one way tickets will cost 40 bucks. More than 5 Thousand vehicles driver over the Dingman's Ferry Bridge each day.
