This weekend was the last weekend of the Orange County Fair in Middletown. It's not as large as the New Jersey State Fair. I still wanted to take my grand kids because there's just enough there for them to have a really nice time. My grand daughter had an absolutely wonderful time. She loves rides. Especially the scary ones! My daughter Kim was scared to go on some of the rides Gracie wanted to go on. So I took her on those rides. They really were scary. I was terrified on that Viking Ship that makes you feel like your going to fall out of it. Gracie loved it. I don't think I've ever refused to go on a ride for a second time with my kids or grand kids. This time I just couldn't. Gracie is 6 and has no fear!
Meanwhile, her brother Christopher totally surprised me and refused to go on any ride. Even the kiddie rides. He cried for mommy when she went on rides with Gracie the entire time at the fair. He just wanted to run around, play in the dirt and squirm. Eventually, he squirmed so much he lost his wrist band. So while Gracie had a wonderful time. Christopher was overwhelmed.
The next day we went to a graduation pool party. Christopher and Gracie had a wonderful time. My son Matt and his wife Jessica were at the party too. So was my son James. They all enjoyed seeing Christopher and Gracie. I loved seeing my kids and grand kids all together.
I did one more really awesome thing this weekend. I started to pick the tomatoes growing in my garden. Then I used them to make one of my favorite meals. Grilled Cheese with bacon and garden fresh tomatoes. Gracie loves them too!
