The Orange County Department of Health says the Polio Virus has been found in waste water tested in Harriman and Middletown. So far there have been no cases of Polio reported in Orange County. Since the early 60's just about every child who grew up in the United States has received the Polo vaccine. For many decades domestic transmission of the paralyzing virus has been eliminated in the United States. Last month there was a confirmed case of Polio in nearby Rockland County. So far there have been no cases of Polio reported in Orange County. The C.D.C. and Orange County Health Department will be doing more tests. The person who contracted Polio in Rockland County was un-vaccinated. Health officials says if you are concerned about whether you've been vaccinated or not you should talk to your health care provider.
