Orange County District Attorney Dave Hoovler and Pike County District Attorney Ray Tonkin announced 36 arrests yesterday. The end result of of "Operation Final Blow" also included the seizure of 2 kilograms of cocaine, 74 grams of heroin, 165 grams of fentanyl, over 1,500 ecstasy pills, 7 guns and $153,000 in cash. Law enforcement also seized the personal property of several of the accused. Hoovler says 11 cars, 4 motorcycles and 2 ATV's were confiscated.
The drugs were allegedly transported to the area from the southern U.S. and then through New York City. Only 6 of the 36 people arrested remain behind bars this morning. The other 30 people arrested are already back on the street thanks to New York State's bail reform laws. Among those arrested was 24 year old Jack Piscitelli a Monticello school teacher and football coach. Vernon Township resident Andrew Mitchell is also facing charges.
