I've known my cousin Elaine my entire life. Her dad was my dad's older brother. We reconnected on Facebook 10 years ago. Every year we try to bring our families together at least one time. A few months ago Elaine became a great grandma. Her great grandson was baptized this past Sunday. So I took a road trip to Harrisburg, Pennsylvania to be there. It's a 3 hour drive with no traffic and I wanted to spend some time with her whole family while I was there. So I decided to get myself a nice hotel room in the area to relax and spend the night. Which worked out great. I had a chance to spend time with my whole extended family. Most of them are Steelers fans. My cousin Ange is a Patriots fan. So I did get a chance to watch the Jets loose with my whole family. I also enjoyed talking a little politics with Elaine's grandson Drew. He wants to be a Congressman one day. His views are a bit to the left. Mine are to the right. In the end I got him to agree to hire me as his press secretary when he gets elected and to be more bi-partisan in his views.
That evening when I made it to the hotel I was hungry. So I went to Sheets for a couple of hot dogs. I've always heard Sheets Hot Dogs were awesome. They were very good but still not Nathans! While we're on the topic of food I saw a brand new waffle at the hotel breakfast. It had a square space in the middle for syrup. What a brilliant idea!
I left Harrisburg by 11 Monday morning and got home in time to be there when my grand kids went out trick or treating. Their costumes were adorable. Check out my pictures below. I hope you enjoy them.
