The Sussex County Board of Commissioners have dedicated $2 Million of funding received from the American Rescue Plan to a grant program for local small businesses and non-profits. To qualify for a grant of up to $15 Thousand dollars several conditions have to be met. The business must have been legally established in Sussex County on or before January 1st 2019. Annual revenue for the business must have been under $4 Million. The business must have 50 or fewer employees as of March 3rd 2021. While also showing a documented decline in sales or increase in expenses directly related to the pandemic. Costs reimbursed by the grants must have been incurred after March 3rd of 2021. The federal funds being used are part of the almost $2 Trillion Dollar American Rescue plan passed by Congress in 2021.
