You probably know some of these Irish slang terms but might not know they have a different meaning in the emerald isle.
Getting them wrong could get you into trouble!
A "Ride" is an attractive woman. It could also mean sleeping with an attractive woman
A "Gaff" means a house. In Ireland when a teenager says they have a "free gaff" it means mom and dad won't be home.
"Chipper" Is a fast food place that sells fried foods like fish and chips
"Bold" means bad behavior. It has nothing to do with courage.
A "plaster" is a band aid
"Dear" means expensive not a term of endearment.
"The messages" means running errands or grocery shopping
"Scarlet" means embarrassed like the color of your cheeks
