The Pequest Trout Hatchery in Warren County has distributed more than 180,000 trout in New Jersey lakes and streams since March 20th. They will be restocking in some places over the next few weeks. A fishing license and trout stamp are required if you are 16 or older. New Jersey residents 70 and over don't need a license. Out of state residents also need a stamp and license and will pay a little more than people who live in New Jersey. The daily bag limit for brown, brook and rainbow trout is 6 fish from April 8th to May 31st 2023. The minimum legal size is 9 inches.
