While most former President's live in mansions and large estates after they retire. By comparison Richard Nixon and his wife Pat chose to live in a more modest setting. In the early 80's they bought a 15 room home in Saddle River and lived there for 8 years. In 1991 they sold their home and moved to a smaller townhouse in Park Ridge. They paid about $600 Thousand dollars for the 3 bedroom five bathroom home. Today it's on the market for about $1.2 million. At the time a spokesman for Nixon said the home at 23 Sherwood Downs "gave them all the room they need and plenty of security." At the time the townhouse was nicely upgraded and redesigned by well know New Jersey architect Eleanor Pettersen. It looks like it's been empty for a while. With a little TLC it could be very nice. I think it would be pretty cool to live where a President once lived.
