My "When it Rains Make Your Own Sunshine" Weekend in Pictures

I left work early on Friday. I had a severe case of the stomach bug. All I wanted to do was get into bed. It as not a great start to the weekend. I finally was feeling better and got out of bed at 12 noon on Saturday with no specific plans. In two weeks I'll be visiting my cousin Roger in Phoenix so I decided to go to TJ Max and treat myself to some new clothes. Which included new comfortable basketball shorts to sleep in. It's already very hot in Phoenix. While I was there I saw my son Matt and his wife. Which was a nice surprise. Meanwhile, Kim took Christopher and Gracie to Flagship Cinemas in Matamoras to see Super Mario Brothers. It was Christopher's first trip to a real movie theater. It's so nice to have one so close to home.

On Sunday I was up early taking my son to the Port Jervis Train Station. When I got home Christopher said he wanted a cheese burger from Wendy's. Gracie's tummy was bothering her so my daughter wanted to stay home with her. I was quite surprised when Christopher accepted my invitation to take him out without mommy. We had a great lunch at Wendy's including cheeseburgers, chicken nuggets and cherry coke. A very nice lady sitting near us offered to take a picture of us and it came out great. This special moment was my sunshine on a cloudy day.

When we got home I worked for about 20 minutes in the back yard. It was just too wet and cold to get much done. Then Kim's boyfriend came home and felt like starting a new project downstairs in the rec room. Almost a year ago, I purchased new energy efficient high hat lights to replace the ancient fluorescent lights that have been there since the house was built. So yesterday Jimmy got started taking down the old and putting up the new. It took a couple of hours but the new lighting is 90 percent done. They'll use a lot less energy and make the area much brighter. My daughter says she will be enjoying more time downstairs with the kids now. Today my project will be to start cleaning everything up downstairs.

These past few Sunday's I've ended the weekend trying to unwind watching something on Netflix. I started watching the nature documentary "Wild Babies" last weekend. Now my daughter and the kids are interested in the show. I hope this very nice ritual continues. I hope you enjoy the pictures below.
