Today's forecast for Northwest New Jersey is calling for hazy sun and temperatures getting over 80. Part of that hazy sun will be caused by smoke from a massive wildfire in Nova Scotia. The National Weather Service issued an air quality warning for all of New Jersey and parts of Northeastern Pennsylvania yesterday. The wildfire in Canada has caused the evacuation of 16 thousand people. In our area smoke from the fire could get close to the ground and cause breathing difficulty for young children, the elderly and people dealing with respiratory conditions like asthma, emphysema and bronchitis. These people should limit outdoor activity. The warning will be in effect only until the end of today.
