"America the Beautiful" has three more awesome verses we rarely hear

In church this past Sunday we sang all 4 verses of "America the Beautiful." I was very moved by the rest of the song we rarely hear or sing. The song/hymn started out as a poem written by Katharine Lee Bates on a cross country train ride in the late 1800's. A church organist at Grace Episcopal Church in Newark added music in the early 1900's. So here's the rest of "America the Beautiful."

O Beautiful for pilgrim feet. Whose stern impassioned stress. A thoroughfare for freedom beat. Across the wilderness!

America America God mend thine every flaw. Confirm thy soul in self control .Thy liberty in law.

O Beautiful for hero's proved in liberating strife. Who more than self thy country loved. And mercy more than life.

America America may god thy gold refine. Til all success in nobleness. And every gain divine.

O Beautiful for patriot dream. That sees beyond the years. Thine alabaster cities gleam. Undimmed by human tears.

America America God shed his grace on thee and crown thy good with brotherhood from sea to shining sea.
