All that silt at the bottom of the metal box under a West Point monument was hiding some pretty cool items placed there 200 years ago. Paul Hudson West Point's archaeologist discovered several coins and a medal all the way at the bottom of the box. The coins found were an 1800 Liberty Dollar, a 50 cent coin from 1828, a 25 cent coin from 1818, a 10 cent coin from 1827 and a five cent coin from 1795. There was also a medal that marked the historic completion of the Erie Canal in 1826. Pretty well thought out contents placed there 194 years ago. Sorry Geraldo.
