Pennsylvania State Police have been updating the public daily on their efforts to capture convicted killer Danelo Cavalcante. Who escaped from prison last week after being sentenced to life without parole for stabbing his ex girlfriend to death. Last week police thought they would recapture him after establishing a perimeter around the Longwood Gardens area. Yesterday George Bivens of the Pennsylvania State Police said Cavalcante most likely was able to escape though underground tunnels and drainage ditches.
This past Saturday he showed up at a friend's house in Phoenixville to ask for help. The friend was not home but saw Cavalcante on his Ring Doorbell and contacted police. He has since abandoned the white van he was driving. The 34 year old is now clean shaven and was wearing a bright green hoodie. Security camera footage also showed he was still wearing his dark green prison pants and white shoes. Bivens said he still thinks Cavalcante is still in Pennsylvania. Although federal law enforcement and police in other states are involved.
