A 64 year old man in a wheelchair was seriously injured in Newton early yesterday morning. The New Jersey State Police say the man was traveling southbound on the northbound shoulder of Route 206 just after 5 in the morning. The man was attempting to cross Route 206 when he was hit by a Mazda SUV on the southbound side. Moments later he was struck by a Honda heading north. He was thrown from his wheelchair. Police are still investigating the crash. So far no charges have been filed.
