The Federal Government is giving New Jersey and other states 2 years to do away with humorous over head road signs. A new 1,100 manual directs states on how signs should be used and regulated. The Federal Highway Administration says all signs should be "simple, direct, brief, legible and clear." The administration believes overhead signs with obscure messages, pop culture references or humor can be distracting and confusing for some drivers. Our tax dollars at work!
