Investigators from the Bergen County Prosecutors office arrested 55 year old Kurt Zimmerman in Paramus this past Friday. Zimmerman has been employed by the Hopatcong School District since 2013. His most recent positions with the district are director of bands and coordinator of student discipline. The charges in Bergen County date back to 2013 when he was employed by the Westwood School District. Zimmerman is accused of engaging in sexual contact with a student between the ages of 13 and 17 on several occasions. The most serious of the three charges he faces is aggravated sexual contact. He was processed into the Bergen County Jail on Friday to await his first court appearance. A letter to parents posted on the Hopatcong Borough Schools website acknowledges Zimmerman's arrest and says he was immediately suspended from his positions in the district.
