A post on the Vernon Township Police Facebook page says an officer responded to Minerals Hotel for a report of a "suspicious male" this past Saturday afternoon. The man was making some guests feel "unsafe" and making "threatening statements." The first officer to respond made contact with the man in the pool area. Guests were then asked to leave the area while the officer requested additional police assistance. An off duty officer started to assist the Vernon Police Officer. The male was being uncooperative and pulled a knife on the officers. He soon dropped the knife and the officers were able to "deescalate" the situation. The case is under review for possible charges. The man was taken by ambulance for medical attention.
