Brendan Kierans is only in the 5th grade but he already understands the joy of helping others. He has organized and started "The Halfway to the Holidays" Summer Toy Drive. There are many toy drives leading up to Christmas but why now? This enthusiastic young man told me he was doing this so kids in need could can have toys for the summer. Donations of new unopened toys for kids of all ages will be distributed to Benny's Bodega and The Boys and Girls Club of Northwest New Jersey. Suggested donations include: soccer balls, tennis and sports toys, wiffle bats and balls, water guns and slip and slides. Drop off locations are Stop and Shop in Sparta, Hayek's Market in Newton and Lakeside Cafe in Sparta. You can also visit The Halfway to the Holidays Toy Drive Facebook page to find out how to donate through Amazon. Donations are being accepted through June 25th. You can hear my interview with Brendan this Saturday Morning around 10:45.
