A few weeks ago during law enforcement week I interviewed several local police officers. One of the questions I asked all of them was what they liked the most about their job. Several officers said they loved their job because every day was different. They never know what to expect. On Sunday June 2nd I'm pretty sure New Jersey State Trooper Romeo didn't expect he would be helping to bring a new life into the world. However, that's exactly what happened.
Stephanie McPherson's fifth child was due June 29th. Babies tend to come very fast after a mom has given birth a few times. That's exactly what happened in the parking lot of the WaWa on Route 206. While Stephanie was in the front seat of the family car. Baby Lane Wilder was delivered into the waiting arms of Trooper Romeo. Mom and baby are both doing well. This past Friday the first responders who rushed to help Stephanie and her family gathered at the WaWa for a brief celebration.
