It's been a challenging last few months for New Jersey Transit. Especially if you ride a train along Amtrak's Northeast Corridor. There's been an out cry for someone to do something to make up for all the inconvenience riders have experienced recently. Last Thursday Governor Murphy answered those critics who wanted to see something done. He announced all fares on all modes of transportation would be waved from Monday August 26th through Monday September 2nd (Labor Day). The governor said this is meant to be a "Thank You" to New Jersey Transit customers: He went on to say: "We encourage New Jerseyans to take advantage of this opportunity. and we continue to be thankful for the many New Jerseyans who depend on public transit. Wow! one last chance to go somewhere fun in New York City or New Jersey and the trip is free. I'm thinking about my options now. My other thought is that this could pay off in the long run if some of the people who don't normally take public transportation start to use it a lot more often.
