New Jersey's Division of Fish and Wildlife is being forced to change or cut back on fall trout stocking in some lakes, rivers and streams. The problem is low rainfall over the past several months. Crews out stocking trout this week have the option of not releasing any fish if they feel the water level in a river or stream is too low. Other places have already been put on the department's "no stocking" list. The Big Flat Brook is Stokes State Forest is one of them. Trout that were going to be stocked there will be released down stream along Route 206 instead.
