Last March New Jersey State Police in Augusta discovered a young dog weak and starving. The pups ribs were protruding and looking at the pictures it was hard to believe he could even stand. Newton Animal Control took custody of the dog. They cared for him and after two months he was doing much better. The pup was named Remo and state police troopers from the barracks that rescued him officially adopted him. Since then Remo has been a "beloved part" of the team at the Augusta Barracks. He has been a comfort to humans who find themselves at the barracks during difficult times. Remo has been doing a wonderful service calming children who are at the barracks with their parents.
It's no secret how wonderful I think dogs are. Remo had to suffer because of cruel humans. Even after all that trauma he still has so much love to give.
