The Franklin Planning Board hearings regarding Silk City Rentals, the proposed 300 unit apartments off Munsonhurst Road, will continue on Aug. 1.
The development company filed a lawsuit over the slope standard rules they followed when putting together plans for the complex. The developer said they used the ordinances given to them while the council said they changed the rules in late November. The change put a more stringent set of slope standards in place.
The developer requested two variances, one for the plan to continue regardless of its non-compliance with steep slope regulations and the second for an allowance of steeper slopes. They argue that not allowing the plans to move forward cause a hardship for the developer.
