Serious Measles Risk In New Jersey

Measles has been reported in New Jersey, courtesy of a traveler recently passing through Newark Liberty International Airport.  If you were at Newark Airport on September 28th, you may have been exposed, and symptoms might not even show up until October 19th!  I personally had no idea it could take that long for measles symptoms to start developing.  This traveler also visited New Square, NY and Rockland County, NY.   Measles is highly contagious.  Professionals are asking if you think exposure was possible, to please call your health care provider BEFORE going to a medical office or emergency department, due to the highly contagious nature of measles.  Symptoms include rash, high fever, cough, runny nose, and red, watery eyes.  Pregnant women are also high at risk for this.
