Judge Lets Drug Dealers Avoid Jail Time Because Of Their Good Grammar

A pair of drug dealers from the United Kingdom will not be sentenced to jail because the judge in their case was impressed with the quality of their text messages. Judge David Hale sentenced Luke Rance and Brandon Kerrison to 100 hours of community service which must be completed over the next 12 months.

The pair faced a maximum sentence of 26 months behind bars after police found them in possession of over $1,500 worth of marijuana. Authorities searched their phones and found numerous text messages about selling illegal drugs.

Judge Hale also said that because the case took a long time to make its way through the legal system, the two defendants were able to show they could stay out of trouble. The judge explained that he did not want to ruin their future prospects by handing down a lengthy sentence. He told the pair that he "hopes a court never sees either of you again."
