No charges will be filed against WVRHS fans or Superintendent

The Sussex County Prosecutors Office and Hardyston Police Department have reviewed multiple videos of the Wallkill Valley vs. Lenape Valley basketball game that lead to allegations of racial slurs and a lawsuit. Both law enforcement agencies have determined there is insufficient evidence to file criminal charges against Wallkill Valley High School Superintendent David Carr or anyone else attending the basketball game on February 13th. The video with the best audio quality was from Hudl a sports analytics service with more than 160,000 clients.

The parents of Lenape Valley High School basketball player Nasir Dickerson have alleged school administrators did nothing when Wallkill fans made monkey noises and taunted their son with racial slurs during the game. The allegations first came to light after a Facebook post by Nasir's mother Stefanie Dickerson.

Last week the Dickerson family filed a lawsuit in Morris County alleging lack of action by Wallkill Valley High School administrators and Superintendent Carr caused Nasir to have considerable psychological distress, post traumatic stress disorder, anxiety and depression.
