33 year old Ashley Womack has a criminal history that dates back to 2010. Last week she admitted to violating probation by escaping from a drug treatment facility last December. Then traveling to Franklin in February to sell a bundle of heroin. A bundle is 10 individual use bags of heroin. Her sentencing is scheduled for June. She could face up to 7 years in prison for violating probation from previous drug charges. Her new guilty plea could result in a 5 year sentence which would be served concurrently with the other sentence. This is a sad story. Before her current legal problems Womack was given a rehabilitative sentence in drug court. Heroin is a terrible drug to get involved with. A powerful addiction that's hard to break even after the legal system tries to help.
