This Weekend was definitely quite Epic. While it didn't have the most epic beginning, starting Friday night at Walmart buying over the counter nasal spray, my weekend kept becoming more epic as it evolved.
Nothing says winning at life like starting your Friday night off at Walmart in Franklin, New Jersey, right? LOL. That trip wasn't too painful, I was able to get in and out of there pretty quickly. I then ventured off to Kite's at Minerals and enjoyed a yummy Titos and seltzer drink by the cozy fireplace. The place was packed with out of town visitors. I LOVE Ski season! I then went to my besty Jasen and Brendan's place for a chill night on Campus. After a long week at work, this was just what the doctor ordered. The only low point was when Brendan had me try these Parm Crisp chips, which are likely loved by many, but made me gag. YUCK. I cannot endorse the Parm Crisp chips, however since I don't like cheese it's likely that Steve is not in their target demographic.
Saturday morning I started off working at our radio station getting forms and paper work done. I was able to a get some things accomplished, but unable to get some other things done so we'll put it as a mediocre win. I then went back to The Orange County Distillery at Brown Barn Farm. Meg and I were thinking about taking my parents there when they visit in a couple of weeks. It's a fun big old barn where we haven't taken them yet, but the negative in winter is it can be cold. They have warming stoves all over, but Meg and I were still warmer when we went to their upstairs area. My mission was to scout the place out, because if it's too cold, Meg and my Mom won't have a great time. I'm very happy I went to scout it out, and confirmed that yes, it is too cold up there and we'll wait to bring my parents when the weather is warmer.
Saturday afternoon on my way back I swung by Smokey's in Vernon and had a well done pepperoni pizza. I intentionally ordered the large so that way breakfast was taken care of for me the next morning. We had fun while enjoying a golfer wearing very awkward green pants that I just missed being able to take his picture on TV. Of course he wouldn't return on TV. I was going to send a picture to Meg and threaten her I was wearing them.
Saturday night let's party! I went to see Jasen and Brendan after Jasen's sister texted me announcing she was there, and demanding to make my Epic Weekend In Pictures. How could I say no to that? We then altogether ventured out to Mountain Creek so we could have a yummy dinner at Hawk's Nest. They have really simplified their menu over the past couple of years, and I think their food is better than ever. My NY Strip steak was medium rare just like I wanted it woohoo!
Saturday night after dinner it was time for fun with our friends at Kite's back on Campus. We had a great time. I was one of the earlier departures, but I'm totally okay with that. I knew we had an action packed weekend happening.
Super Bowl Sunday I was able to score a lunch date with Awesome Girlfriend Megan. We went back to The Sparta Pour House at Sparta Lanes because it's halfway for us and we had such a fun adventure last time. Meg and I tried a new to us IPA called "Magnify Vine Shine IPA," from Fairfield, New Jersey. This was one of the better IPA's we have had in quite some time. I was very happy that Meg was able to see me.
Sunday afternoon I then went to Shop Rite of Sparta. I went to go get some good IPAs for the Super Bowl, and was going to go grocery shopping. After seeing the massive crowds at the grocery store, I quickly gave up on that plan. Tomorrow is another day!
Sunday night time for the Super Bowl party at Carrie's. I was so happy to bring over my wings. How do I do them? I just simply cooked up Tyson boneless buffalo tenders. I put those in the oven with a little bit of my Rogue hot sauce on them, which made them a little too spicy for our friends. My bad! I thought I was being mild. After hanging out with our friends for a little while, all of the sudden a surprise happened. Awesome Girlfriend Megan showed up to surprise me. I had no idea she was coming. Our besty Christine said my jaw dropped and my face resembled a little kid who was getting surprised with a puppy. I LOVED getting surprised by Meg and getting to watch the first half of the Super Bowl with her.
The Super Bowl Halftime show I thought was okay. I felt it was honestly a little more sex driven than hit driven. Overall the commercials were decent. I went back to my place to watch the second half, and my Direct TV went out. I couldn't get the game. I went to bed and just said "thank god this didn't happen when my Patriots were on!"
Overall we had a wonderful weekend. I hope your weekend was terrific too. Time to start planning next weekend!
