ICE Sweep results in 115 New Jersey arrests

Federal Officers working out of the Newark's ICE Office have arrested 115 people wanted for crimes and in the United States illegally. One of those arrested is a 53 year old man wanted for murder in Brazil. In West Milford ICE arrested a 46 year old Mexican who has been convicted of criminal sexual contact with a minor. A illegal immigrant from the United Kingdom arrested in Pompton Plains had previous convictions for arson, domestic violence and drug distribution. Other arrests in North Jersey took place in Fairfield, Elizabeth, Passiac, Paterson, North Bergen and Guttenberg, ICE officials said 84 percent of those arrested had previous convictions or pending criminal charges. The 115 arrested came from 23 different countries.
