Franklin woman who stole from youth program offered probation

Earlier this week, Justine Lynn of Franklin Borough was offered a plea deal from the Sussex County Prosecutors office. She would have to plead guilty to third degree theft. Then be sentenced to up to 5 years of probation, complete 100 hours of community service and pay restitution of up to $30,000.00 According to Lynn's attorney a forensic accountant has been hired to "look into the financial issues" of the case. An arrest warrant from the Hardyston Police alleges Lynn withdrew over $15,000.00 from the account of the Wallkill Valley Youth Football and cheer leading program in 2018. Then admitted she used the money for her personal use. At the time, Lynn was the only person who had access to the program's debit card and check book. Lynn's next court appearance is May 4th.
