Coronavirus Update: N.J. N.Y. Pa. March 25 2020

It's been 10 days since the step by step shut down of our economy began. As predicted, the number coronavirus cases continued to dramatically increase this week. New York City is very clearly is the epicenter of cases in the New York and New Jersey area. There are over 12,000 confirmed cases in the city alone. More than 3 times the total number of cases in New Jersey. Yesterday the Trump Administration asked everyone leaving New York City to self quarantine for 14 days. After no new cases reported on Monday, 7 new cases of coronavirus were reported by the Sussex County Health Department on Tuesday. Sussex County now has 22 confirmed cases. The youngest person with the illness is a 22 year old from Branchville. New Jersey now has 3,675 cases and 44 coronavirus deaths. Bergen County has over 700 cases as of yesterday. There was some good news. The state health department says over 12 thousand people have been tested recently. Only 27 percent of the tests were positive. New York State now has over 25,000 confirmed cases. The number of deaths has climbed to 210. Pennsylvania's Governor Tom Wolfe reported there were over 800 cases statewide. So far there have been 7 coronavirus related deaths. He expressed concern that Pennsylvania could soon be experiencing the same crisis as New York and New Jersey very soon.
