My "Spring is here" Weekend in Pictures

The weekend just flew by. I'm proud to say I was very busy and accomplished everything I set out to do. As a bonus the cherry blossom tree in front of my house started to bloom. Which is always a beautiful sight. On Saturday I cleaned out the backyard flower beds and planted the impatiens I purchased last week. Saturday morning I went to the wonderful garden shop we have in Matamoras and bought tomato, pepper and cucumber plants. They'll get planted next weekend. I also finished repairing and staining my front deck. Which looks great with a freshly stained trellis. I just had to take some pictures with Miss Gracie in front of the cherry blossom tree and post them on Facebook. Thank you for all the kind words. On Sunday "Friends of Matamoras" had a drive through planting event for children. Gracie and Christopher got one flower and one vegetable each to plant. Gracie was so excited to help me get the tiny plants potted and watered the minute we got home. We planted tiny broccoli and tomato plants. Along with a wandering petunia and marigold. After all that planting I made my famous chicken and rice "a la dad" by request for Kim. Then enjoyed my first virtual happy hour with my cousins in different parts of the country. My cousin Bronwyn and I were on the east coast. My cousins John and Roger were on the west coast. It was a beautiful day in Phoenix, Portland, Long Island and Matamoras.
