My Epic Weekend In Pictures: Surviving Summer Heat!

This weekend was relatively action packed seeing friends and making fun memories. While I didn't necessarily travel that far all over Sussex County, we still definitely made our fun times count. We will start my Epic Weekend In Pictures with my latest BEAR encounter. Mama Bear with her 3 cubs on my street. Unfortunately someone didn't close our dumpster on Campus. Hopefully neighbors start getting better at closing and locking our dumpsters. We did have a good run for a few weeks at least. Nevertheless, it's always quite an epic sight when you see up close and in person how majestic bears are. Plus, I didn't get eaten, so that was another small victory.

Friday night I was fried from work. Long day at the radio station offices behind the scenes with some technical glitches and issues. I stopped by Tiki for a drink after work because I didn't want to go straight home, even though that probably would have been the smarter decision. Of course once I arrived at Tiki, friends kept showing up. One drink turned into probably 3 hours LOL. Great times seeing wonderful friends. It was almost like a typical Friday summer night in Vernon, almost.

Saturday morning, time to hit the pool with my bros. We tried surviving the heat at Minerals Sports Club poolside. It was great to relax in the scorching hot sun with Jasen and Brendan. It was so hot out, just sitting in the sun we were sweating. I'm happy to report since I generously applied sunscreen before, during, and after, I didn't burn up! Woohoo! A weekend out in the sun where my Irish Tail doesn't get sunburned is a major victory for me! Even got some tan color action happening too.

Saturday afternoon, time to see my friends for Happy Hour at The Irish Cottage in Franklin. Awesome Girlfriend Megan and the Awesome Daughters wanted to meet me an hour before normal happy hour time. All good, I left the pool a little earlier than expected and was able to make the quick ride over to Franklin. I was able to treat the girls to a nice lunch and that was well worth it. Then Meg and the girls had to go back home, so I stayed for another round with friends since it was now the Happy Hour normal time slot.

Saturday night, back to seeing friends at The Tiki Bar. The more I write about it, the more my Weekend kinda sounds like the Bill Murray Groundhog Day movie where everything keeps repeating itself over and over again. Apparently this was my pattern for the weekend. Saturday night at Tiki was a great time hanging out with several of my amazing friends.

Sunday morning was definitely a lazy, unproductive morning. Although I did successfully clean mold / mildew out of my bathtub shower so that was one victory at least. Sunday later morning I went grocery shopping to refill my freezer. Then I was just craving a change.

I went to Jimmy Geez on Route 23 in Oak Ridge. Their spicy garlic wings are out of this world fantastic. I haven't had good luck with their buffalo wings, but President's Day my Uncle JDawg had spicy garlic and we all became hooked immediately. The bartender remembered us getting the jar of sauce to go way back when in February! Once I ordered the spicy garlic wings, and they arrived, I realized it wasn't my smartest decision. It was 90 million degrees outside and humid. I didn't need to add really hot, spicy wings to the mix and make myself sweat even more. I did enjoy dipping my french fries into the sauce and that was enjoyable and gave me a great kick. The team there was helpful and terrific, and they were all cracking up over me admitting that maybe my hot wing addiction in outdoor dining 90 million degree weather wasn't my smartest decision.

Sunday afternoon I hit the Cottage on my way home, and saw more of my friends.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read my Epic Weekend In Pictures recap. Overall we had a terrific weekend. I hope your weekend was wonderful too. Time to start planning next weekend!
