Ling Ling is a senior pup who is in great need of some genuine TLC . He was found in dire need of help with his brother, Aristotle. In an incredibly sad turn of events his previous owner's adult children found their father deceased in his home with the dogs. No one knows how long these pups were alone without care, maybe a few weeks or more. The adult children were devastated and horrified at the condition the pups were in. They took ownership of the dogs, and asked for our help finding them appropriate new homes and making the best medical calls for them. Unfortunately Aristotle succumbed to his medical issues and passed away. Leaving brother Ling Ling behind to find his new home. Ling Ling is now looking for a foster-hospice or Hospice adopter. We do not know how much time he has left with us, but other than having a Lyme infection (likely has had this for a long time) his blood work was surprisingly good. He is on medication for arthritis pain and he is on an appetite stimulant because he is a bit of a picky eater and the malnutrition seemed to have made him more so. We have found that he seems to prefer to eat at night, and he has been eating much better lately. He is not neutered and cryptorchid (this means his testicles are retained). Our vets have decided a neuter for him at this time would be too risky and invasive of a procedure, and recommend against it. He does seem to do okay with some other dogs, but most other dogs stress him out severely. We ideally would like to find someone who is dedicated to hospice care for dogs like him and have a separate room dedicated to being his space. He would be okay in the same home as other dogs as long as they are kept separate. Preferably he would do best as an only-pet Sometimes he has a hard time on the leash, and panics and tries to pull away. He has never shown any aggression. Most of the time, especially for a leisurely walk, he does fine on leash. He just needs patience. He does have some vision loss and senility, so this type of panic is not unusual. He is housebroken and very quiet. He spends most of his time sleeping here. Keeping him clean and happy is easy. He needs to find his final retirement home, would you consider bringing this gentle boy a final home full of warmth and peace?
