Two New Jersey MVC employees have tested positive for Covid-19

Drivers needing services from New Jersey's Motors Vehicle Commission offices have been waiting in long lines for many weeks now. While the number of drivers allowed inside commission offices has been limited the long lines sometimes stretched for blocks outside. Other safety protocols have been in place including social distancing and masks. In spite these efforts two employees of New Jersey MVC have recently tested positive for Covid-19. Newark's Regional Licensing Center will be closed until next Friday. The North Bergen Licensing Center will be closed until Tuesday October 20th. So employees at both locations can quarantine. The has been no mention of how many drivers came in contact with the employees before they tested positive. Governor Murphy has extended deadlines to renew drivers licenses and registrations several times to try and ease long lines of residents needing services. Maybe it's time to just extend all drivers licenses and registrations for a full year.
