The only thing I planned to do this weekend was cook chicken wings and sirloin steak in my new air fryer for the Super Bowl. The rest of the weekend I was open to suggestions. My daughter is very good at keeping up with Gracie and Christopher's hair cuts. So when she wanted to take them this weekend I volunteered to help. Taking both kids for a haircut is still an adventure. Sometimes they like it and sometimes they don't. Gracie was good but Christopher couldn't wait until it was over. For me it was just fun being there. On Super Bowl Sunday I usually make my "bourbon boozy" chicken wings. This year I made them in the air fryer and they were the best ever. The recipe is very simple. Fully cook the wings. Then coat them with a blend of original barbecue sauce, soy sauce and a little bourbon. Then reheat for a few minutes. I also made sirloin steak in the air fryer for the first time. It came out very juicy and tender. Grilled steak is still the best. But when the grill is covered with snow the air fryer is a great next option. I did get some actual work done this weekend. I filled out our local income tax forms and mailed the checks. I can't stand the Berkheimer Tax. It's a 1 percent income tax on every borough resident who has a job. Just a sneaky way to make us pay more property taxes. My grandson continues to entertain us at home too. Christopher is hilarious when he dances to the "Bay Shark" song. He also loves to play with Maddie. She is so patient with him. Even when he sits on her back.
