Wayne man gets 2 years in prison for Delaware Water Gap attack

Acting U.S. Attorney Rachael Honig has announced a 59 year old man who lives in Wayne will serve 21 months in prison after pleading guilty to attacking a young couple in the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation area. Jeff Mulcahy admitted to pointing what turned out to be a pellet gun at the couple. He ordered them to the ground and pistol whipped the young man. Who fought back and knocked the pellet gun out of Mulcahy's hand. The young man's girlfriend picked up the pellet gun and Mulcahy took off. The couple called police and gave them the license plate and a description of the vehicle Mulcahy drove away in. He was arrested a while later in Hackettstown. The attack took place at Kittatinny Point where the couple had just been swimming in the Delaware River.
