My " Got the shot and Spring Cleaning" Weekend in Pictures

I knew I had a lot on my agenda this weekend. I've spent the last two weekends cleaning out my shed, deck boxes and basement for Spring Clean Up day in Matamoras. For 20 bucks I filled my SUV with the junk we don't want anymore and got rid of everything in dumpsters at the firehouse. Now we have a whole year to accumulate more junk. Which my daughter is very good at. Saturday afternoon I went to the garden store and bought tomato and pepper plants. Next week or the week after I'll actually plant them. Once the danger of frost is over. I did put the impatiens in pots because they're easy to bring inside. For the first time I'm trying to grow sunflowers from seeds. Hopefully, I'll be able to add them to my flower bed by the pool. Saturday afternoon I also got my first COVID vaccine shot. It was the Moderna Vaccine. I knew the shot wouldn't hurt so I planned to have some fun with it. The pharmacist had a great sense of humor and let my daughter take a picture of me pretending to be in pain when the shot went in. It fooled several of my friends on Facebook. Then we all went over to my son Matt's house for dinner. The house he and Jessica just bought came with a home theater. After dinner we watched the new version of The Lion King. Gracie all on her own picked up Christopher just like Simba in one of the opening scenes of the movie. It was adorable. A couple of Gracie's butterflies came out of their cocoons as well this weekend. Once they all come out of their cocoons we will be releasing them. On Sunday I started to feel the side effects of the vaccine and spent most of the day in bed. When I actually had the virus my symptoms were very mild. I was surprised at how awful I felt on Sunday. I guess feeling pain in your arm and all the other discomforts is a sign my immune system is working. I'm not even sure why I need a vaccine after having COVID. Hopefully, the second shot won't make me feel as sick and fatigued as the first. There's a lot of social pressure to get vaccinated. Just remember none of the COVID vaccines are FDA approved. They are being given under an emergency use authorization. The choice is yours. Especially if you are young.
