We work hard so we have a nice home and yard. Sometimes we just need to relax and enjoy what we've worked for. On Friday after work I mowed the lawn, cleaned the pool and shopped for groceries. On Saturday I worked in the garden a little. Picked some very nice cucumbers. Then took a moment to appreciate the 10 foot sunflower growing in my yard. I grew it from an old bag of seeds a listener gave me a few years ago. What an amazing and beautiful flower. I will be growing even more next year. One week after getting married my son Matt and his wife Jess announced there was a new addition to our family. They are now proud parents of a new fur baby named Nala. She a mix between and Burmese Mountain Dog and a Poodle. They're very smart. I can't wait to meet her. On Sunday I was one of the volunteers who mowed the grass at my church and parsonage. It was very hot but I was happy to help. When I got home I couldn't wait to get in my pool. My grandson Christopher was excited to join me. When I asked him if he wanted to swim with "Goppy" (that's me). He ran right to the sliders. We had a great time. The only problem is he doesn't like the baby inner tube. So I have to hold him while we're in the water. He does like to climb the ladder and fall into my hands. Then get dipped in the water. After the pool we went to Walmart. Chris doesn't like being strapped in the shopping cart. But I made sure he stayed strapped in. We also had red velvet cake to celebrate Denise's birthday. Her choice not mine. I would have picked something with chocolate icing. Check out my weekend pictures gallery below.
