Last week I unintentionally upset afternoon guy Steve Allan by saying New Jersey Pizza was better than New England Pizza. Steve was like a mad man the Friday before he left to visit his family in Boston. He promised me the "Cape Cod" pizza he would bring back was better than any pizza in this area. When Steve returned on Wednesday he did bring back a frozen "Cape Cod" pizza for me. A big thank you to Steve's mom for making sure he put it in an insulated bag to keep it frozen. Finally, on Saturday I felt like having the pizza. It looked delicious when I took it out of the oven. I didn't think my daughter and grand daughter were hungry. I sliced the pizza into 8ths and took two slices. When I returned one slice was left. My daughter and grand children had consumed almost all of the pizza. When I asked my daughter if it was better than Jersey Pizza she answered "oh yes." "Have Steve get us more dad!" Then to add insult to injury my grand daughter asked me to make her more of that "great" pizza last night. Looks like New England Pizza won by a landslide! So here's my review. The pizza Steve brought from Massachusetts was great. Almost as good as New Jersey pizza. The crust was better. The texture was just a little too oily. Some of the other things that happened this weekend included a lovely Saturday afternoon falling asleep drifting in my pool and seeding a second round of cucumbers. I bought some fun little fireworks for the kids. Watched as my grandson figured out how to escape his sleep sack. We also took the oldest dog in the house to the vet. "Mickey" is a 17 year old Chihuahua. He was loosing weight quickly so we brought him to Dr. Bullock at Wantage Veterinary Hospital. He was dehydrated but doing very well for a dog his age. She gave my daughter 3 medications for Mickey and he is improving each day. He is a very sweet old dog.
